A Conversation with Judith Jamison Wednesday, October 31 at 7:30 p.m. Meadows School of the Arts Dean Carole Brandt moderates this open forum with Judith Jamison as Jamison discusses her career, her vision for the future and the intimate, enduring art of dance. Panel Discussion: The Preservation of Dance Thursday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m. A distinguished panel from the field of dance joins Judith Jamison in a discussion of how the personal artistry of todays outstanding performers and choreographers can be handed down as a living tradition to succeeding generations of dancers, and the role technology assumes in the process. The event will be moderated by Shelley Berg, associate professor of dance at SMU. Panelists will include Thomas deFrantz, author, critic, choreographer and associate professor of theatre arts at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Ilene Fox, executive director of the Dance Notation Bureau; Richard Long, Haygood Professor in The Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts at Emory University; and Madeleine Nichols, curator of the dance collection at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.
