SMU’s Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics and Public Responsibility has announced Jeffrey D. Kahn as the recipient of the 2007-08 Maguire Teaching Fellow Award.
Every year the Maguire Center honors and supports SMU faculty members who develop a new course relating to ethics, or who add an ethical dimension to an existing course.
Kahn, an assistant professor in the SMU Dedman School of Law, was selected for his efforts to add an ethical focus to his existing course, “Perspectives on Counterterrorism.”
In Fall 2007, the class will also examine the professional ethical dilemmas confronted by individual attorneys who are either called upon to formulate government policies or to oppose them for their clients in an agency hearing room, federal court or a military tribunal.
