Feb. 8, 2007
The Julia Scott Reed Collection is on exhibit through Feb. 28 at SMU’S DeGolyer Library, 6404 Hilltop Lane.
Reed was a pioneering journalist who wrote stories about Dallas’ black community from the 1950s through the 1970s. The collection, part of the Archives of Women of the Southwest, is in honor of the late Dallas Morning News journalist’s life and work. The Archives of Women of the Southwest document the history of women in North Texas and surrounding regions.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. For more information, call 214-768-3231.
