SMU HISTORY PROFESSOR AWARDED JOHN EDWIN FAGG PRIZE

David Weber, SMU’s Robert and Nancy Dedman Professor of History and director of the William P. Clements Center for Southwest Studies, has been awarded the 2006 John Edwin Fagg Prize by the American Historical Association for his book, “Barbaros: Spaniards and Their Savages in the Age of Enlightenment.” This annual award is given to the best publication in the history of Spain, Portugal or Latin America.
