October 12, 2006 Maguire Center Hosts Conference on Ethics and Law of Domestic SurveillanceThe ethics of intelligence gatherers and the balance between national security and privacy will be some of the topics explored at the Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics and Public Responsibility’s conference, “Guarding the Guardians: The Ethics and Law of Domestic Surveillance.” Experts in these fields will come to SMU on Friday, Oct. 20. The conference was designed to honor the former director of the Maguire Center, Richard O. Mason. The event is free and open to the public. Preregistration is required and ends Tuesday, Oct. 17.
