President Bush Nominates SMU Professor to Literacy Board

Patricia Mathes is the TI Endowed Chair in Reading Research in SMU's School of Education and Human Development.

DALLAS (SMU) — President George W. Bush announced his intention to nominate SMU’s Patricia G. Mathes, TI Endowed Chair in Reading Research and Professor, to be a member of the National Institute for Literacy Advisory Board. Mathes will continue teaching and serving as the director of the Institute for Reading Research in SMU’s School of Education and Human Devleopment. Upon confirmation, Mathes will serve for the remainder of a three-year term expiring November 25, 2007.
