SMU Pom Squad Wins Nationals:
The Colony Resident Coaches Award-winning Team
DALLAS (SMU) — The SMU Pom Squad won the 2006 national championship in the open division of the Chick-Fil-A cheer and dance collegiate competition in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Colony resident Lori Lewis coaches the 12-member team.
The squad’s two-minute jazz/hip-hop routine
topped 5,000 other dancers who entered the competition. It was the
first time the squad participated in the national competition.
The squad, part of SMU’s spirit team,
performs at SMU football and basketball games. Lori Lewis is
