SMU to Host Symposium on U.S. Foreign Aid

SMU will host a symposium on May 19 to address the issue of foreign aid policy from perspectives of several experts, including Jeffrey Sachs, Quetelet Professor of Sustainable Development and director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University.

Sachs will also be on campus to receive an honorary degree from SMU. The symposium will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. in McCord Auditorium, third floor, SMU’s Dallas Hall.

Sachs will be joined by Ann Van Dusen, a Washington-based independent consultant, Carol C. Adelman, a Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C. and Korinna Horta, a senior economist with Environmental Defense in Washington, D.C.

The symposium is free and open to the public.
