LARRY DIAMOND
TO SPEAK
AT SMU ON THE NEW IRAQI GOVERNMENT
Larry Diamond, a
Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution and author, will speak on
Wednesday, March 8 about prospects for democracy and stability in
Iraq following the U.S. invasion. Condoleezza Rice, then NSC
Director and former Stanford University colleague, asked Diamond
to help design the new Iraqi government. He has since authored
Squandered Victory: The American Occupation and the Bungled Effort
to Bring Democracy to Iraq based on his experiences. The
lecture begins at 3 p.m. in the Smith Auditorium in Meadows
Museum, 5900 Bishop Blvd., on the SMU campus. For more
