SMU RECEIVES PREVENTION EXCELLENCE AWARD

Outside the Classroom, a Boston-based company that produces alcohol prevention and assessment tools to reduce high-risk alcohol consumption, has honored SMU with a 2006 Prevention Excellence Award.

Applicants had to administer AlcoholEdu® for College to first-year students in conjunction with other campus initiatives that supported AlcoholEdu as the cornerstone of the prevention efforts on campus.

As a recipient, SMU will be nationally recognized as an “Institution of Prevention Excellence.” A panel of national prevention experts and researchers selected the honors.
