SMU Professor Speaks to World Trade Organization SMU economist Kamal Saggi was invited to speak before the World Trade Organization Symposium on Trade and Sustainable Development at WTO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, Oct. 11. Saggi made a presentation on “Transfer of Technology and the Role of Intellectual Property Rights.” Professor Saggi, who also serves as SMU’s director of graduate studies in economics, teaches courses in international trade, international economic policy and intermediate microeconomics, as well as a Ph.D. course on international trade under imperfect competition. His research interests include theory of international trade and investment, economic growth and development, and industrial organization. ### SMU
