 SMU Named “Champion in Health”

Southern Methodist University has received a 2005 "Champions in Health" Award from the Tarrant County Public Health Department and the Health Industry Council of the DFW Region. The award recognizes the University's efforts in workplace wellness and disease prevention in the DFW metroplex.

SMU won in the Educational Entity category on the strength of three major programs: Wellpower, which promotes year-round individual health and well-being, and the annual Human Resources Fair and Staff Development Day. Staff members from the university’s Human Resources Department accepted the award in a ceremony at the Las Colinas Country Club Oct. 20.
