  • Award Ceremony/ Lecture: “Aguila Azteca,” will be presented to David Weber, SMU professor of history, in recognition of his extensive workon the history of Mexicoand relations between Mexico and the United States.   • Gallery Talk: “Weaving the Legend of Don Quijote,” Dr. Salvador Salort, senior curator at the Meadows Museum, will examine the art and craft of tapestry fabrication and will discuss the special affinity for the legend of Don Quijote held by European patrons and artisans in the 17th and 18th centuries. 12:15 p.m., SMU Meadows Museum, 5900 Bishop Blvd. Museum admission: $8 per person for ages 12 and up; always free for members, SMU faculty/staff/students and children under 12.   • Homecoming Parade: Features student floats, special entries, dignitaries, local high school bands and the Mustang Band, 11:30 a.m., will start on Hillcrest Ave. and end on SMU’s campus. Pre-game festivities, including the Homecoming barbecue, at The Boulevard following the parade. Free and open to the public.
  • Homecoming Kids Corral: Kids entertainment zone featuring inflatable games and a coloring tent. 11:00 a.m. – 1 p.m., Ford Stadium, 5801 Airline Rd., SMU campus. Open to all kids ages 3-14. For more information, call 214-768-2885.
  • Alumni Homecoming Barbecue: Noon – 1:45 p.m., north end of Bishop Boulevard, tent near the flagpole. Ed Bernet and the Levee Singers will be on hand for entertainment. Fun activities for children will be provided. Tickets for the barbecue are $10 adults, $5 for children ages 8 and under.
  • Homecoming Game: SMU Mustangs vs. Rice, 2 p.m., Gerald J. Ford Stadium, 5801 Airline Rd., SMU campus. For ticket information, call 214-768-GAME.
