Celebration Sings Praises Of Lloyd Pfautsch’s 40 Years As Director Of Choral Activities At SMU

DALLAS (SMU) --A Celebration of the Life and Musical Legacy of Lloyd Pfautsch, director of Choral Activities at Southern Methodist University for 40 years and noted composer, will be held Friday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m. at Perkins Chapel on the SMU campus. Dr. Carlton Young, former director of the Master of Sacred Music Program at Perkins School of Theology, composer and editor of the current United Methodist Hymnal, will speak on the accomplishments of Dr. Pfautsch and his contributions to SMU. The Meadows Chorale will sing under the direction of Dr. Al Calabrese, director of choral activities. The congregation of friends and former students of Dr. Pfautsch will comprise a larger choir, singing anthems by Dr. Pfautsch. Dr. George Baker, Associate University Organist, will play. There will be a 6:00 p.m. rehearsal in Perkins Chapel for those who wish to sing in the larger choir. For more information, call the Sacred Music Office of Perkins School of Theology at 214/768-2502.
