Guided Thru Life: Blind Student And His Dog Share Diploma

Brandon Christiansen, injured in a 1996 accident that left him blind and brain-damaged, graduated with his seeing eye dog Forrest at SMU's 88th annual commencement ceremony May 17. Because of his injuries, Christiansen took nine years to finish his degree. In recognition of his dog's assistance while in college, Christiansen asked and SMU agreed to have Forrest's name on his diploma. For more information, contact SMU's Public Affairs at 214-768-7650.
