Happily Ever After: Executive Negotiation Workshop To Teach Dispute Resolution

DALLAS (SMU) -- Recent labor disputes and corporate scandals have pushed tensions at many major companies to their highest levels. Knowing how to resolve tension is essential to today's top executives. Experts from SMU's Dispute Resolution Program and the Dedman School of Law will present an Executive Negotiation Workshop May 12-15 for top executives, managers and other professionals whose ability to negotiate effectively is critical to their success.

Participants will learn successful strategies for negotiating with prospective and current customers, vendors, competing businesses, as well as with their associates and colleagues. In addition, participants will practice mock negotiations.

SMU faculty members Anthony Picchioni and Michael Colatrella have experienced backgrounds in negotiation and will teach the course. Picchioni has provided negotiation, conflict management, and dispute resolution training for Southwest Airlines, Lucent Technologies, TXU and Belo. Colatrella has represented several Fortune 500 companies in complex disputes and acted as a consultant and trainer in negotiation and conflict management for several of the country's top companies.
