SMU ANNOUNCES 2002 HOMECOMING WEEKEND

DALLAS (SMU) -- SMU will celebrate its annual Homecoming on Oct. 16-20. Reunions will be celebrated by the classes of '57, '62, '67, '72, '77, '82, '87, '92 and '97.

During Homecoming Weekend, the SMU Mustang football team will play Louisiana Tech at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Gerald J. Ford Stadium. In addition to the game, SMU Homecoming Weekend includes a Saturday parade at 10:30 a.m. followed by a barbecue lunch at the main flagpole. The SMU Homecoming 2002 Weekend officially begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, with a student kick-off party at the steps of Hughes-Trigg Student Center.

Organizers include Homecoming Chair LaDonna Carrington, '83, '84; Alumni Parade Chair E. G. McMillan, '62; Art Contest Chair Paula Deakins Molberg, '81; Distinguished Alumni Award Event Chair Deanie Fulton Kepler, '70; and Young Alumni Auction Chair John Bellomy, '96. Student organizers are Homecoming Chair Beth Kraus and Student Parade Chair Ashley Scully.
