SMU SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TO HOLD NETWORKING EVENT JUNE 2

DALLAS (SMU) -- The SMU School of Engineering will hold a networking event for current and prospective graduate students and corporate professionals on Sunday, June 2, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Plano Centre, 2000 E. Spring Creek Blvd. in Plano.

The event will begin with an information session for prospective graduate students from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Information will be available on both the regular and executive master’s degree programs offered by the SMU School of Engineering.

At 7:30 p.m., Geoffrey Orsak, executive director of The Institute for Engineering Education at SMU, will give a talk titled “Is the U.S. a Technology Leader or Follower?” Orsak will discuss how critical it is for the U.S. to produce technical experts if it is to maintain its competitiveness.

From 8-9 p.m. there will be an opportunity for current and prospective students to network with each other, as well as with SMU faculty members and corporate professionals.
