SMU SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TO HOLD NETWORKING EVENT MARCH 4

DALLAS (SMU) -- The SMU School of Engineering will hold a networking event for current and prospective graduate students and corporate professionals on Monday, March 4, from 6-9 p.m. at the Plano Centre, 2000 E. Spring Creek Blvd. in Plano.

The event will begin with an information session for prospective graduate students from 6-7:30 p.m.

At 7:30 p.m., Yildrim Hurmuzlu, chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SMU, will give a lecture titled "One Step Closer to Telepresence." Hurmuzlu will discuss how modern engineering will allow people to be places such as on Mars or inside the human body without actually being there.

From 8-9 p.m. there will be an opportunity for current and prospective students to network with each other, as well as with SMU faculty members and corporate professionals.

For more information on the March 4 event, or to RSVP, e-mail gradprograms@engr.smu.edu or call 214-768-1403. The next networking event will be held on Sunday, April 7.
