SMU COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT SPONSORS LECTURE ON KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT OCT. 30

DALLAS (SMU) -- The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Southern Methodist University will host a lecture on knowledge management Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. in the Forum of the Hughes-Trigg Student Center.

The lecture, titled “Knowledge Management: What is It? What is It Good For? And What is New About It?” will be presented by Hermann Maurer from the Graz University of Technology in Austria.

“The use of knowledge and information has become of great value and will continue to be very important in the years to come,” said Hesham El-Rewini, chair of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

New techniques that Maurer will discuss in his lecture include active documents, applications of similarity recognition and knowledge networks.
