DALLAS (SMU) -- The SMU School of Engineering will hold a networking event for current and prospective graduate students on Sunday, Sept. 30, from 7-9 p.m. at the Plano Centre, Windhaven Room.

The event will feature a free reception followed by a presentation from SMU Electrical Engineering Professor Zeynep Celik-Butler on microsensor and microelectronics research at SMU..

Last month, more than 70 persons attended a similar session designed to provide current and prospective students the opportunity to network with other students, industry leaders and SMU faculty members.

“Our first event was a great success,” said Curt Eley, assistant dean of the SMU School of Engineering. “Participants were glad to have the opportunity to network with their peers. It gives them a chance to talk about everything from industry trends to job tips.”

Eley said the SMU School of Engineering plans to continue these networking events on a monthly basis.
