Shakespeare's As You Like It

Title: As You Like It by William Shakespeare
What: As You Like It celebrates the enduring power of love in all its many disguises. Driven from her home by her usurping uncle, Rosalind seeks protection in the Forest of Arden. There she must use her wit and wisdom to mend wicked hearts, redeem the wrongfully slandered and explore the uncharted landscape of the heart. As You Like It is considered one of Shakespeare’s most magical and romantic adventures, but there are shades of darkness amidst the love-drenched brightness. Political corruption, fraternal rivalry and melancholy all serve as thematic counterpoints to Shakespeare’s investigation of how freedom from the constraints of court, city, and even gender can bring about profound self development.
