Capital Campaigns

SMU Athletics endeavors to recruit the best student-athletes and offer a truly vibrant academic and extracurricular experience. As we strive to attain Top-25 status in all sports programs, athletics capital projects are an ongoing priority. The following major projects are currently underway:
SMU Payne Stewart Golf Learning Center
SMU and the Dallas Athletic Club have partnered to construct a unique golf center at the DAC in SMU Hall of Famer Payne Stewart’s honor. The center will exceed the standard of top college golf programs in the nation and provide a world class teaching facility and home for our SMU men’s and women’s golf teams. Aquatic Center
Plans are in the design stage for a world class swimming and diving center to be built on the existing campus site. Priority features include a nationally competitive 50-meter indoor pool, SMU Swimming and Diving Hall of Champions, team locker and meeting rooms and coaches’ offices. Plans are also in place for renovations to the outdoor Barr Pool and platform diving facility where NCAA champions and Olympic competitors have trained for decades.
Turpin Tennis Stadium
The Turpin Tennis Stadium, the Mustangs’ premier outdoor facility, includes six outdoor courts for competitive tournament hosting. Phase one of the stadium construction is concluding, and there are future plans to construct phase two: a connecting indoor NCAA regulation tournament facility including locker facilities for home and visiting teams, coaches’ offices, meeting and conference rooms, and concession areas. The tennis center will allow for year-round training, as well as SMU men’s and women’s team tournament hosting.
Moody Coliseum
A renovation feasibility study is in progress to design premium seating areas and expand on the historical venue’s existing concourse, restrooms and concession areas.
