Fall 2012 graduate theory placement testing is scheduled for Wednesday, August 15, 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM in room 2020 of the Owen Fine Arts Center. The aural skills portion will be from 6:30-7:15PM and will not be repeated. (Plan to arrive early!) The written exams will follow and students may leave when finished.

These exams are required and will normally NOT be made up. Students are advised to make appropriate end-of-summer plans to be present and on time for these exams.

All Meadows undergraduate students are required to have a Macintosh laptop computer. Additionally, Music Theory courses at SMU may also require Finale and other music software such as MacGamut, as well as hardware such as external microphones, MIDI keyboards, etc. Since these courses make extensive use of laptop computers, the Department of Music Theory will support only computers and software that meet these requirements.
