Masterpieces of Modern Sculpture: Rodin to Oldenburg The Meadows Collection
New Installation Opening October 19, 2003

While he is widely recognized for assembling an internationally renowned collection of Spanish art, Algur H. Meadows (1899–1978) and his second wife, Elizabeth Boggs, also compiled a small but exceptional group of modern sculpture. Spanning more than a century, the collection features masterpieces by European pioneers Auguste Rodin, Aristide Maillol, Jacques Lipchitz, Alberto Giacometti and Henry Moore, and important works by American sculptors David Smith and Claes Oldenburg. These exquisite works will be displayed in prominent locations throughout the museum, as well as outdoors on the plaza.
