Early Enrollment Discount  (NEW)

Register seven or more days in advance and receive an early registration discount, available on designated courses listed beside the regular course fee in ( ).  Discount does not apply to “Concurrent Enrollment” classes.

SMU Staff, Faculty, and Alumni Discount  (NEW)

Members of the SMU community, including current and retired staff and faculty, current students, and all alumni, are eligible for a 10% discount on most Meadows Community Education courses.  To receive your discount call 214.768.3343 and provide your SMU ID or fax your registration form with SMU ID noted to 214.768.4199. Discount may not be combined with any other promotion. Discount is subtracted from the regular registration fee. Discount does not apply to “Concurrent Enrollment” classes.

Concurrent Enrollment: Credit courses for Community Education Students

The Meadows School of the Arts offers many of its credit courses on a non-credit basis, or concurrently. This means a few spaces are available in college credit classes for community members who do not need to earn credit toward a degree. No credit is issued for these courses. Registration is handled through the Meadows Community Education office. Each course is noted in this schedule with an “ * ” after the title and the word “Concurrent” in the body of the description, if the course is offered concurrently.

How to register

There are four ways to register for Meadows Community Education courses.

  1. In person at the Community Education Office:
    SMU Meadows School of the Arts
    Greer Garson Theatre, 3rd Floor (GG 3500)
    Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 4:30pm
  2. Mail in your registration by completing a registration form and mailing it to:

    PO Box 750356
    Dallas  TX   75275-0356

    Be sure to include a check or money order made payable to Southern Methodist University, or include your Visa/MasterCard/Discover  number, expiration date, security identification number and signature.
  3. Fax it, 214.768.4199. Registration 24 hours a day!  Use the registration form in the catalog, or send the course name and starting date, along with your address, phone number(s), and VISA,  MASTERCARD, DISCOVER number, expiration date, security identification number and signature.
  4. Web site registration. Registration 24 hours a day! Complete the registration form located on the Meadows Web Site and follow the instructions.

Registration Confirmation. A confirming letter with class location, map, and supply lists (when applicable) will be mailed to students.

Policies

General:

Enroll before attending class; instructors do not accept enrollment fees.  Classes with insufficient enrollment may be canceled, in which case tuition is refunded in full.  Meadows Community Education Department reserves the right to substitute instructors, change class locations, cancel courses, adjust curricula or schedule, or limit enrollment. We reserve the right to combine or cancel classes if enrollment is low. All students are required to have a fully executed “Waiver of Liability” on file with our office no later than the first day of class.

Cancellation and Refund:

Students may cancel an enrollment by notifying the Meadows Community Education Office 3 working days prior to the first class meeting.  A $25 handling fee will be withheld from tuition and the balance will be refunded within 2-3 weeks.  After the class begins, no refund is permitted.  Students who fail to attend classes are not eligible for refunds.  There is a $25 return check fee.
