Theatre Auditions: In addition to admission to the University, all undergraduate applicants to the Division of Theatre must complete an audition. These auditions are held both on campus and at regional locations across the country and provide Theatre faculty the opportunity to evaluate your artistic accomplishment, as well as your potential for success in the program.
For a complete list of audition dates and information on how to request an audition appointment, please scroll to the bottom of the page.
First-year and transfer Theatre candidates should prepare two contrasting monologues from contemporary plays and one song. (Please note that no accompanist is provided nor required.) The total length of both pieces and the song should not exceed five (5) minutes. Auditions will also include an interview. Candidates interested in design, directing, playwriting or other areas of theatre should be prepared to discuss and demonstrate their abilities in those areas in addition to presenting their auditions. All auditions will be videotaped.
