The Department of Mathematics at SMU will be hiring a Lecturer to teach courses in our pre-Calculus and Calculus sequences. The position, which is non-tenure-track but renewable in one-year contracts, begins August 2009.

Our pre-Calculus courses include Business and Regular pre-Calculus and a Finite Mathematics course. The Finite Mathematics course is based on material from For All Practical Purposes and includes topics on Probability, Game Theory, Finance and Voting. The Calculus courses are Business Calculus, Calculus 1 and Calculus 2. The teaching load is 4/2. Some experience in teaching these courses is critical. Applicants should possess at least a M.S. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics.
