As SMU
celebrates
the
centennial
of its
founding in
1911, the
Friends of
the SMU
Libraries/Colophon
is pleased
to announce
that the
Central
University
Libraries
has been
listed among
the
centennial
decade
priorities.
The
University
recognizes
the
importance
of the
libraries in
its quest to
become a
leading
research
institution,
and plans
are underway
for
renovations
and
improvements
that will
strengthen
CUL’s
resources
and
services. I
hope you
will join us
in
supporting
our SMU
Libraries by
renewing
your
membership
or becoming
a Friends
member
today. And
if your
“unbridled”
enthusiasm
so moves
you, I hope
you will
consider
designating
your Second
Century
Campaign
gift to the
libraries.

The
Friends
will
continue

fulfill
their
mission

support
the SMU
Libraries.
Through
the
money
raised
by
membership
dues and
the
annual
Tables
of
Content
event,
our
grants
help to
fund
materials,
resources,
equipment,
and
projects
outside
of the
libraries’
regular
operating
budgets.
In
addition
to
financial
support,
we offer
library
supporters
intellectually
stimulating
programs,
access
to
special
events,
and an
opportunity
to
engage
with
fellow
book
lovers,
faculty,
staff,
and
members
of the
community.
