Trials and Tribulations of Self-Publishing
Jerrie Marcus Smith is a multi-generational
Texan who has lived in
Dallas most of her life.
She graduated from The
Hockaday school and
later Smith College and returned to Dallas with
a Yankee husband who
chose to continue his life here.
They have 5 children, who live all
over the world, and 11 grandchildren.
Her first book, Things As They
Are at Nonesuch Farm, was
privately printed in 2006.
Reflection of a
Man, the Photographs of Stanley Marcus,
was published by The Cairn
Press in 2007.
Currently she and her husband live in
Fredericksburg,
Texas and Rockport, Maine.
Allison V. Smith is a freelance photographer
living in Dallas. Prior to
freelancing, Allison worked as a staff
photographer for the Dallas Morning
News.
Allison's current clients include The
New York Times, Spirit Magazine
and Dwell Magazine. Her personal work is
a photographic study of Marfa,
Texas. She is represented by the Barry Whistler
Gallery in Dallas and has
photographs in the permanent collections at the
Dallas Museum of Art and the
Museum of Fine Art. Her most recent projects
include publishing Reflection
of a Man with her mother Jerrie Marcus
Smith and accepting the role as staff
photographer for KittyWigs.com .
