David Braden

David Braden, a Dallas native, is a Distinguished Alumnus of the University of Texas at Arlington, and a graduate of the School of Architecture of the University of Texas at Austin. He is a Fellow of American Institute of Architects and has served as the President of the Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and Texas Society of Architects. Following his retirement as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Dallas firm of Dahl Braden PTM, Architects and Planners, he was appointed Director and later Chairman of the Board of DFW International Airport. Dave enjoyed a long and intense involvement in the civic and political affairs of Dallas while simultaneously pursuing an avocation as a public speaker and humorist. His product, "The State of the Nation -- According to Braden", an ever-changing humorous and philosophical look at the foibles of American life and politics, has entertained literally hundreds of audiences across the nation. He has been awarded the George Washington Honor Medal for Public Address by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, PA. He is currently a member of the Large and Complex Case Panel of the American Arbitration Association and was named one of the 100 Master Construction Arbitrators by the Association. He completed 35 combat missions in the Pacific theater with the 20th Air Force and is a highly decorated veteran of WWII.
