Elizabeth C. Williams

Elizabeth Williams has served as treasurer of SMU since 1991. From 1989 to 1999, she also served as vice president for business and finance.
Before joining SMU, Ms. Williams was vice chancellor for business and financial affairs/treasurer at the University of Denver. Previously, she worked at Arkansas State University.
Ms. Williams was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rhodes College and holds a Master's degree in history from the University of Virginia. She also did additional graduate study at Yale University and at Harvard University's Institure for Educational Management.
Ms. Williams has served on several corporate boards, including United Educators Insurance, SCUUL (a Bermuda-based company that reinsures liability risks for educational institutions) and Texas Industries Inc. (a NYSE-listed company that produces cement, aggregates, and steel). She also serves as trustee of Texas Presbyterian Foundation, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and The Hockaday School.
