Mission
To create responsible civic leaders and active citizens through community engagement and initiatives that develop the individual student.

Our Beliefs
Within Leadership and Community Involvement, we believe that…

  • Leadership and service are bound by their intrinsic relationship to each other.  Service is the path to leadership.

  • Service cultivates a consciousness of self, commitment to a common purpose and citizenship through guided experiences and reflection.

  • Service to others fosters diversity and inclusiveness.

  • Leadership is a process; not a position.

  • Ethics is a prerequisite for effective leadership.

  • Learning happens everywhere.  We believe that we are educators in the classroom, on campus and in the community.

Learning Outcomes
Students involved with programs and services affiliated with Leadership and community involvement will:

  • Be able to articulate the intrinsic relationship between leadership and service.

  • Are able to apply skills and knowledge to seek solutions to community issues (i.e. campus, local, global).
