Faculty: Getting Started with iTunes U

SMU uses Apples iTunes U to distribute podcasts. Here are the steps to get you going:

  1. Sign a "Faculty Content Release Form for SMU on iTunes U."
    Send a copy to Ian Aberle at SMU Box 0125.
  2. Your iTunes U course must be linked to your Blackboard course.
    Email Ian Aberle with your course's unique ID from Blackboard. For example "STAT1301-0012-1104"
  3. Once you have been contacted about your course being linked, you can begin uploading files.
  4. Every semester, your iTunes U course must be linked to your current semesters Blackboard course.
    This can be a new iTunes U course or you can reuse your old iTunes U course. If you reuse your old iTunes U course, you can also reuse the old podcast by putting them in a "private" tab and moving them to your "Lectures" tab as needed.

Advance Setup

If you are currenly using some other method to distribute your podcasts and your RSS feeds, you can still have them listed in SMU on iTunes U.
