Types of Applications
Application Checklist
- A completed Undergraduate Transfer Application for Admission
- A U.S. $60 nonrefundable application fee (Bank drafts not accepted)
- Official university transcripts
An official academic transcript from each college or university attended, including the last completed term,
must be sent by the institution to SMU at the address at the bottom of the page.
If you are enrolled at the time of application, a transcript including those
grades must be submitted as soon as grades are available
- Official Secondary Transcripts
- Personal Statement (recommended for scholarship consideration)
- Personal Resume (recommended for scholarship consideration)
- Recommendation Letter(s) (recommended for scholarship consideration)
- Proof of English proficiency*
- A photo copy of the first two pages of your passport
*If your first language is not English, you must submit a TOEFL (550 paper test or 80 internet based), IELTS (6.5 Academic), or SAT Critical Reading (550) score to demonstrate English proficiency.

Any student who is applying to SMU and has previously attended a foreign institution is required by the University Registrar to submit
a foreign credential evaluation. Please
