IELTS Cancellation and Postponement

Requests for cancellation or postponement of the test date should be made in writing. Candidates may request a test day cancellation more than five weeks prior to the selected test date and receive a refund in the amount of $100 (less $60 to cover cancellation fee) A candidate who cancels a test less than the 5–week period prior to a test date will receive no refund.

Failure to appear for the test without notification, or arriving late on test day are considered cancellations and no refund will be issued.

Candidates who wish to postpone their test date less than 5 weeks prior to the test will be considered a cancellation and will receive no refund.

Candidates will have to pay the entire test fee again to register on a different date, either at the same or at a different center and resubmit all paper work required for registration.

Candidates seeking cancellation or postponement less than the five-week period prior to the test date may be considered for a refund or postponement (less $42.50 to cover cancellation fee) charge if they can provide evidence that their ability to take the test has been affected by serious illness or cause.

A Test Day Refund/Postponement form should be requested from the test center and must be completed and returned not more than 5 working days after the test date, with full supporting documentation, before refunds or postponements can be considered.

Refunds are paid by check or credit to credit card payment and are made within one month of the approved request.
