The Global Effects of Violence Against Women

SMU Human Rights Education Program hosts a Symposium on
                 The Global Effects of Violence Against Women

Co-sponsored by the the Alliance for Human Dignity, the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Ft. Worth and the SMU International Center.

In an effort to increase awareness of the issue of violence again women, Dr. Rick Halperin, Director of the SMU Human Rights Education Program, will moderate a panel of six leading women's rights activists.  Panel members include:
     
           Mina Ahadi (Iran)
           Nenina Bouillet (Argentina)
           Ana Maria Careaga (Argentina)
           Theresa Flores (United States)
           Doaa Mansour (Palestine)
           Jessica Okello (Uganda)

The program will be held on the campus of Southern Methodist University in the
Hughes-Trigg Student Center Ballroom (lower level), 3140 Dyer Street, Dallas, Texas 75275.

           7:15 program

The program is free and open to the community.
