February 20, 2012 – Theology on Edge: A Critical Path for
the Church in Latina Perspective
Presenter: Nancy Elizabeth Bedford, D.Th.
Respondents: Pablo Andinach and Elsa Tamez
Violence against women in Latin America and Latinas in the United States is
on the rise. How do our ideas about God and human beings change when
we try to confront such violence? How might a theology informed by the
experience of migrants and migration, and especially by the current reality
of Latinas, help the church respond creatively to resist violence?
Such questions put theology "on edge." We will explore some answers to
help the church change and grow in the face of new realities.
