Atrium CD

Atrium AB or CD—These rooms can be two large rooms or four smaller rooms. They are mainly used for meetings, trainings and rehearsals.

  • Ballroom East or West—These rooms are mainly used for small speaking engagements, luncheons, dinners, receptions, medium-size meetings and for rehearsals.
  • Ballroom Central—This room is mainly used for small speaking engagements, luncheons, dinners, receptions, medium-size meetings and for rehearsals.
  • Ballroom West-Central (combined)—These rooms are mainly used for medium-size speaking engagements, luncheons, dinners, receptions, large-size meetings and for rehearsals.
  • Ballroom East-Central (combined)—These rooms are mainly used for medium-size speaking engagements, luncheons, dinners, receptions, large-size meetings and for rehearsals.
  • Ballroom East-Central-West (combined)—The three ballrooms can be used for large speaking engagements, luncheons, dinners, galas, conferences, exhibitions and much more.

Commons

Commons—This is the most visited area on campus. It is a beautiful open atrium with a glass ceiling. Lectures, press conferences, rallies and special events are held in this area.

The Crossing The Crossing—The Crossing space is located on the main level of the Student Center next to the Commons area. Outside vendors, student organizations and departments use this space for sales, promotion and fundraising.

Portico B-C-D—This room can be divided into three smaller rooms. It is mainly used for meetings, lectures and rehearsals.

Portico E

Portico E—This room may be used for small to mid-size meetings, lectures and rehearsals.

Prefunction Area

Prefunction Area—In conjunction with SMU's Centennial Celebration and its look ahead to the next 100 years, the University has transformed the lower level of the Hughes-Trigg Student Center into Centennial Center. The centerpiece of this space is the exhibition "A Second Century of Achievement." The state-of-the-art, interactive display is designed to engage visitors of all ages in the life and future of the University. SMU plans for Centennial Center to be the site of major University events, involving prospective and current students and their families, alumni events and reunions, other campus events, and those hosted by community and corporate groups.

Promenades AB

Promenades AB—This room can be divided into two smaller sections. It is used for banquets, small meetings, small lectures, hospitality room and much more.

The Forum

The Forum—This room is mainly used for phonathons, lectures, meetings, multimedia presentations, and demonstrations.

Theatre

Theatre

The Theatre—The seating capacity of the Theatre is 500. It is mainly used for large lectures, movie screenings, theatre productions and concerts.

The Varsity

The Varsity—This room is mainly used for wedding receptions, award presentations, small lectures or gatherings and coffee houses. This room has a built-in small stage. This room leads out to a beautiful courtyard that can be decorated.
The West Bridge The West Bridge—This is the area outside of the west side of Hughes-Trigg. Students and departments may set up tables there to promote upcoming events or fundraise
