Hughes-Trigg, the living room of the SMU campus, is visited by over 5,000 people daily. It is a great place to advertise any type of event, organization or company. Hughes-Trigg grants advertisement opportunities to members of the SMU Community and Greater Dallas area. There are many ways to advertise within Hughes-Trigg, below is a list of various methods of advertising, we are sure one will suit you and your group's needs. Campus Central (Electronic Bulletin Board)

Want to get the SMU community at your event? Campus Central is a 10ft by 12ft digital light projection screen located on the main level of the HTSC. We offer this program to the SMU and greater Dallas community. It is a viable method of reaching over 5,000 people per day. It is intended to reach the greater SMU community concerning the major events offered on the SMU campus and the Greater Dallas area Companies may also use this service to advertise their business. This service is free to SMU Chartered Organizations and Departments. Outside businesses will be charged a fee of $150 a day or $500 per week for a full screen advertisement. You can design your own slide or have us design it for you, at a minimal cost.   Please read the policies to make sure you submit your slide in the proper format. Commons Banners

Want to get noticed in a BIG way? Promote your organization event by creating a banner to hang at one of seven spots in the Hughes-Trigg Commons. Please, read the banner guidelines on the back of the form to make sure your request complies with our policy. Fill out the Request to Hang Banners form and bring it along with the banner to the Hughes-Trigg Staff Office for approval. The Crossing Space

The best way to reach your customer is to meet them face to face. HTSC offers a space where vendors can come display and/or promote their product and/or service. The Crossing Vendor Space is located on the main level of the Student Center next to the popular Commons area.  From purses to jewelry to clothes, we can accommodate almost any type of vendor in this area.  For a minor fee of $125, vendors have the opportunity to reach the SMU community and increase their revenue. Additionally, vendors can opt to use the Pony Express card reader, which allows students to pay with their student ID card. Read The Crossing guidelines.

West Bridge Railing Banners

Want to be noticed outside Hughes-Trigg? Hang your banner on the West Bridge railing! Please, read the banner guidelines on the top of the form to make sure your banner complies with our policy.  Fill out the Request for West Bridge Railing form and bring it along with the banner to the Hughes-Trigg Staff Office for approval. West Bridge Table Request Form

The best way to promote your group is by word of mouth.  Student organizations can fill out this form to request a table outside the West Bridge of the Student Center, which happens to be the most used entrance by students, faculty and staff. Please make sure to read the policies and guidelines for reserving a table on the West Bridge.

The Guide

The Guide is a yearly publication with information about services and programs offered at the HTSC throughout the academic year. It is distributed during first-year orientation in July, at the beginning of the Fall semester to all the SMU campus and at the beginning of the Spring semester to new students. The Guide reaches over 6,000 members of the SMU community and is kept around all year long by departmental office waiting areas because of its valuable information. HTSC offers area businesses the opportunity to reach the SMU consumer by placing an advertisement in this publication. Advertising fees are as follows:

Full Page/Four Color (Back Cover) $1,000
Full Page/Four Color (Inside Front Cover) $ 750
Full Page/Four Color (Inside Back Cover $ 750
Full Page/Two Color $ 500
Half Page/Two Color $ 250
Quarter Page/Two Color $ 125
Business Card Size/One Color $ 75

The deadline to place an advertisement for 2009-2010 is May 31, 2009. Please contact the Marketing Office for more information, 214-768-4498.

Display Cases

HTSC offers area businesses six display cases on a monthly or semester basis. Four display cases are located on the main level for every visitor to see. The other two are located on the lower level, which is visited by individuals all day since it houses several dining areas. All of the cases have locks and will only be accessible to the client. The marketing office can help you set up a great, eye-catching display. Here is the number and dimensions of our display cases:

  • 2 Upright Cases with three levels (L48in W18in H53in); Located on the main level
  • 2 Bigger Flat Cases (L60in W48in H10in); Located by the south entrance on the main level
  • 2 Flat Cases (L60in W30in H12in); Located on the lower level

The rate of each display case is $125 per month or $350 for 3 months. For more information, please contact the Marketing Office at 214-768-4498.

Bulletin Boards

HTSC has three bulletin boards where student organizations and SMU departments can post information. In addition to these three boards, there is another board specifically for individuals to post advertisements about their business, product, employment opportunities or anything else, within our guidelines. All postings must be approved by The MANE Desk, which is located on the main level of the Student Center. There is no fee for posting information on these boards.

Table Tents in the Varsity (available to SMU Students and Departments only)

Promote your event by placing table tents in the Varsity. You will need to complete a reservation form at the Hughes-Trigg Staff Office. Contact Charlotte Wiscarson at 214-768-4440 or HTSC_Reservations@smu.edu with any questions.

Table Tents at Java City Cyber Cafe
