Who can reserve the room?
The room can only been reserved by faculty and Staff from SMU. Students are not allowed to reserve the room.
Are there specific times that the room can be reserved?
The HRTR can only been reserved during office hours from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Reservations will not be accepted for more than four months out OR for after hours (nights and weekends). How can the room be reserved?
Please complete the form located on the HR web page on the DevelopU spotlight section. An HR representative will respond within 48 hours from submission of the request.

No. Please arrange to pick up the room key at the HR Front Desk prior to your event. You will need to sign in for the key and return it as soon as possible after your event. If your event ends at 5pm, please make arrangements with HR concerning the return of the key, preferably before your event ends. Who is in charge of the room set-up?
Anyone who requests the HRTR is in charge of their own arrangements. This includes room set-up, catering, materials, AV etc.
Once the reservation is confirmed, the user will receive an email with additional information regarding room access, how to use the AV equipment and kitchen access, if applicable.
What if someone needs additional help with the AV equipment?
Once the request has been approved, an HR representative will email you a link to our online tutorial with the instructions to use the AV equipment. If you still have questions, you will need to contact an HR representative by email to developu@smu.edu or by phone 8-7287 to request an appointment prior to your event.
Please keep in mind that HR cannot guarantee that we will have a representative available to assist with AV on the day of your event. The ITS Help Desk may be able to assist you via the telephone in the room. Call 8-HELP.
What to do when the meeting or event is over?
Please return the keys and the room in the condition it was prior to your event and report any problems they encountered. If applicable, this includes:
Turn off all lights (Make sure you push the switch all the way down. It may look that the lights are off but you need to pull down a little more the switch to really turn them off).
Turn off projector(s).
Log off from computer (Do not turn off computer).
Turn off keyboard.
Erase and clean the white board (if it was used).
Turn off mouse and place it on charger.
Leave chairs and tables the same way they were before your event.
Lock the room and return the key in the HR front desk.
