Posting Period
All positions must be posted for a minimum of 10 business days. The business
days are Monday through Friday, and in accordance to the days that the
university is open.
The position may be posted longer based upon the job market specific to that
position. The hiring departments must request this at the beginning of the
search to support external and print advertising schedules, search committee
schedules and networking opportunities. (e.g. conferences) A priority
consideration date is recommended to permit interviewing during the longer
posting period. The result is a quicker response time and efficient recruiting
of qualified applicants. Resumes can still be accepted after the priority
consideration date.
A deadline date to apply will appear on all job postings. Face-to-face
interviews cannot commence until after the priority consideration date in order
to give the search adequate time to build a qualified pool of applicants.
Any position of Director III and above (unclassified) maybe
advertised as "open until filled." The hiring department must state a priority
consideration date to manage expectations and effectively attract interested and
qualified candidates. The position will continue to post on the Employment
Opportunities website and Job List after the priority consideration date
with the language “Position is open until filled”.
