SMU provides business travel accident insurance for all full-time staff and faculty who are under age 75 and travel worldwide on business for the University.
This insurance is provided through SMU Risk Management at no cost to eligible staff and faculty. The plan pays a benefit of $100,000 (up to a group maximum of $1 million) in the event of accidental death or serious injury while traveling on business. WorldNet is a 24-hour, toll-free service that provides a comprehensive range of information, referral, coordination and arrangement services designed to respond to most medical care situations and many other emergencies you may have when you travel. It also offers pre-trip assistance before you travel and information on things like passport/visa requirements, foreign currency and weather. These services are available to full-time and part-time faculty and staff.
