As a student staff member, you play an integral role in helping implement the mission of the department through programming and building community. Programming in the residential communities is based on the four cornerstones listed above.
The High Five are characteristics that all staff in the department strive to have when working individually and with each other.

2/1, 3, 5: Student Staff Leadership Institute
2/6-8: Individual Interviews

2/26: Contracts Signed
The recruitment process is designed to give you an understanding of the department and position. The Student Staff Leadership Institute is a one-time, interactive experience designed to better equip and prepare you for the student staff position. Topics covered include:
- The seven components of the student staff member
- Engaging your community individually and as a team
- What to realistically expect in your position
- An opportunity to meet and work with your future colleagues
