Information on Road Closures, Traffic for Residence Hall Opening

Portions of Airline Road and Binkley Avenue will be closed from May 29 to December 17, 2012, for construction activities (see red area on map below.) For check-in at Hughes-Trigg Student Center, please use either the Binkley Garage or the Airline Garage (north of Fondren Library, not pictured.) Parking may also be available in the Meadows Garage.

Traffic is being re-routed to Dyer Street and Ownby Drive while construction occurs. Parking on Ownby is prohibited. Due to congestion, drivers are encouraged to keep traffic flowing as "standing" is not permitted in this area. Drivers and pedestrians are urged to use caution in this area.

Specific Information Regarding Traffic:

• Access to the Binkley Garage will be available from Binkley Avenue, but you cannot go east beyond the entrance/exit.

• The lot north of the Sigma Chi house (indicated in green) may be used for turning around only; you must have a permit to park in the Sigma Chi lot.

• The Moody Garage is closed until August 13. When it reopens, access from SMU Boulevard will be available, but you will not be allowed to use Airline Road. All traffic exiting Moody Garage must go east.

• The Airline Garage is located at 6506 Airline Road. From University Boulevard, turn right onto Airline follow the road until the intersection with Airline Circle. Turn left onto Airline Circle.

• Parking along Binkley in front Moody Coliseum and Crum Basketball Center will remain open, but is only accessible from Dublin Street.

• If you are westbound on SMU Boulevard from Dublin Street or North Central Expressway, and wish to go northbound on Airline, you should go south on Dublin to Mockingbird Lane, west on Mockingbird to Bishop Boulevard, north on Bishop to Binkley, east on Binkley to Ownby, north on Ownby to Dyer, east on Dyer to Airline, and turn north on Airline.(See the green area on the map.)

• If you are southbound on Airline from McFarlin Boulevard, you will need to turn west on Dyer, south on Ownby, west on Binkley, and south on Bishop Boulevard to Mockingbird.

• The alley between SMU Boulevard and Dyer Court will be two-way and only accessible from Dublin.
