Coming to SMU this fall as a first-year student? Congratulations! About 5-7 days after paying your SMU deposit, you will receive an email with instructions on how to log into the housing application system. You will enter your housing & dining preferences and complete related tasks for your housing application & contract. First-year students are required to live on-campus and are guaranteed housing, but you do need to complete the housing application & contract for assignment.
First-year students from Dallas who wish to live at home with a parent or guardian may request an exemption from the first-year housing requirement by completing the "Live at Home" request form. (The form is available by logging into the housing application website.) Decisions on exemptions are made by the Executive Director of Residence Life & Student Housing.
Snider Hall will open for summer school on Wednesday, May 30. Check-in is at the Virginia-Snider desk from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Students who are interested in summer school housing must contact RLSH to complete an application & contract. Residents must be enrolled in SMU classes in order to live in summer school housing. Meal plans are required of all Snider residents.
