Professor Shiao has written numerous conference papers and reviews in journals such as Twentieth-Century China and Enterprise & Society. 

Shiao’s research project explores the rise of modern publishing and knowledge production, the crisis of the intellectual, youth identity politics, and their implications in an era of the Chinese revolution in the first half of the twentieth century.
