Dr. Davis attended medical school at the University of Kansas and then trained in internal medicine at the University of Alabama Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in sports medicine at UT Southwestern and Methodist Hospitals of Dallas. He has hospital affiliations at Methodist Hospital and Baylor University Medical Center. Dr. Davis is board certified in internal medicine and has a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine.
Dr. Nancy Merrill is the Co-Medical Director and full time physician at the SMU Health Center. With 20 years of experience in college health, Dr. Merrill has been instrumental in increasing the quality of health care available to SMU students. Since she became medical director in 1997, substantial upgrades and updates have been made, including accreditation through a national healthcare accrediting organization and continuing medical education requirements for medical and nursing staff. Dr. Merrill is responsible for continuous quality improvement studies and quality assurance. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University in New Orleans, completed her internship in Internal Medicine and board eligibility requirements in Emergency Medicine at Charity Hospital of New Orleans, and practiced as an Emergency Medicine physician prior to joining the medical staff at Tulane University Student Health Center. Dr. Merrill is married to an OB-GYN and is the mother of two daughters.
Before her medical school days, Dr. Crites was a registered nurse and certified nurse-midwife in the United States Air Force. She was a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and after completing her residency at Baylor College of Medicine, she opened her private practice at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas in 1991.
