CALL FOR PAPERS: Engineering, Science and Social Science

Overview:
SMU graduate students in research graduate programs in Engineering, Science and Social Science are invited and encouraged to present results of research they have completed at SMU. The aims of this event are to foster communication between students in different programs, give students the opportunity to present their work in formats they will use as professionals, and share with the SMU community and interested professionals from industry the outstanding research being done at the university.

Graduate students interested in participating should register by e-mail, providing the information requested below along with abstracts of their presentations, to Phyllis Payne, phyllisp@smu.edu, (telephone 214.768.4336) by February 10, 2009. Late entries can be accommodated only if space and time permit.

You may pick up poster boards on February 12 & 13, 2009, in suite 101, Perkins Administration Building. The office is open 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. and closed during the lunch hour.

Award Ceremony:
A cash award of $250 will be given to the best presentation from each department, provided there are at least three presenters from that unit. If the number is less than three, the best presentation will be identified by pooling them across units in similar situations.

Abstract:
Please limit abstracts to 200 words or less. The following information is also required and needs to be included on the abstract: the Title of the Presentation, Student’s Name, Department, Phone Number, E-mail Address, Thesis/Dissertation, and Advisor’s name.
