Payne StewartConsistently ranked among the top 25 collegiate golf programs in the United States for both men and women, SMU golf has enjoyed a strong history of success. Thanks to a combination of award-winning coaching and elite players, SMU golf teams have maintained a tradition of championship level play over many years. Among its many accomplishments, SMU has won national championships in both men's and women's golf and is one of a small number of schools to have produced five USGA champions. College Golf Guide ranks the SMU women's golf program as number 16 in the U.S. and the men's program as number 20.
